3rd Trimester

anyone else have A LOT less movement at 36wks?

I can still feel her moving, so i know she is ok. But I was used to her being really active all throughout the day. Now i just feel her shifting her body every now and then. I've started keeping count whenever i do feel her move... I can't help but freak myself out over such a big change. Anyone else?

Re: anyone else have A LOT less movement at 36wks?

  • I don't know if I would say A LOT less, but noticeably less. She still passes kick counts right away, so I was never worried, but yeah. Definitely less for me.

  • I was told the movement shouldn't *decrease* at the end, just be different types of movements. The jabs and kicks and punches change into rolls, and attempted stretches, etc.?

I have definitely felt the change, but she still moves all. the. time.

    ?

Is your LO passing the kick counts? 10 movements in 2 hrs??

  • I definitely don't feel movements that are as pronounced as before.  I think the kid is completely out of room!  If you're worried, talk to your Dr.  What you're describing sounds okay to me, though.  It's hard not to worry, though and it's good you're doing kick counts!

  • definately not 10 movements in 2 hours.. Ill call the doctor now. thank you.
  • Is she passing kick counts?  You should be feeling 10+ movements in 2 hours or less.

Just because you feel a baby moving, it does NOT mean everything is OK.  If there is noticeablely less movement than normal, you really should call your doctor.

In 50% of stillbirths, the mom noticed decreased movement first.  I'm not trying to scare you--I just want to underscore that this is NOT something to ignore.
