Musical Mobiles?

Do you use a mobile on your crib? There is an absolutely adorable mobile that matches my crib bedding. I didn't get it as a shower gift and am contemplating just buying it myself.  While its super cute, I don't want to waste money.  Did you actually use a mobile on your crib?  Did the music help sooth your LO?

Honestly though...how cute is this?!?

  • That is really cute!  We don't have a mobile on DS's crib but his pack n play came with one and that is wear he sleeps currently next to our bed.  He LOVES the mobile on it because there are teddy bears that look down at him as they go around.  I think alot of it is how they are positioned to be viewed from the baby's perspective instead of as decorative element.  EIther way, he loves it.

  • Music and white noise definitely help DD sleep. We don't go to bed without it. She uses white noise when she sleeps at night in the p-n-p in our room. She naps with the crib mobile that plays music but her new favorite is the Fisher Price seahorse. She loves it. I just wish it played for longer than five minutes!

  • We used a mobile for DS.  We got the Symphony in Motion one, but I can't remember the manufacturer.  It did not match our bedding, but I loved it because the music played a little longer and the colors were contrasting (b&w and red) so it was interesting very early.

I loved it and so did DS.  Perhaps a little too much because he would get over stimulated by it when he was really little.  Once he got a little older it was perfect for buying me an extra 20-30 minutes to shower or whatever.

The one you picked is super cute.  I would make sure that it plays music for longer than 5 minutes, though.  A lot of mobiles play music for very short time periods.

    Nothing to see here....

Oh yes, I totally agree with this!
