Has been all on the down low the other week asking me about my spring school schedule and such- and asking about skyping into my class. I thought he was just making conversation.
However- today he surprised me a bunch of beach balls blown up in the kitchen and a card saying- that he booked a cruise for the three of us to the Bahamas in February.
The card was cute- saying he really knows how much i bust my butt with work and school and SAH with her and he thought that a cruise would be a nice to escape the cold winter and cruise to the warm beaches.
DD will be 21 months in Feb.
When i asked him how much it was (because we NEVER do big money stuff without each other) he said the WHOLE thing costs 1300 for seven days for the three of us- porting out of Baltimore- so no airfare!
Anyone wanna join us??
Re: DH surprised me with a 'winter' vacation
I am seething with jealousy over here. I was just saying to DH the other day that I'd love to go on a cruise. I've never been and he and I desperately need some alone time.
Anyway, that was so nice of him (and thoughtful). It's nice to know how much he appreciates all that you're doing! I'm sure you guys will have a blast! And to get out of Philly in February...awesome!
Cheryll- cruising is GREAT- and very reasonable. Considering all of your lodging, food and most of the entertainment is included.
Out of the 1300--- 660.00 is port fees. So if you divide the rest up- it costs 91.00 per night for the three of us for the room, food and entertainment.
Have fun
Awesomeness!
We came thisclose to booking a cruise this summer, then realized DH's passport expired and the boys don't have passports at all. We need to rectify that!
yeah it was us-
we are seeing Jason this weekend for a camping trip. I am trying to get gisele and us ready now. so much crap to pack.
I've been looking at cruises--but scared to take DS on one ---- not sure how he'd handle it. But I know it'd be easier with one baby than two for sure--so want to do it before we TTC #2. He need a passport--great reminder from the poster who mentioned it.
Wow--that is just an awesome deal Stace!!

Notes:
Aside from never having done a cruise and wanting to see what it's all about, one of the appeals is that they are so reasonable. Unfortunately, with me not working and not haven gotten my 1st unemloyment check yet, I don't forsee any vacations in our near future.
MUCH-DESERVED, Stacy, wahooooooo!!!
I cannot wait to hear how it was with a toddler as we have discussed taking a cruise with Emily but just weren't sure about all the logistics, day-time activities, food, etc. I'd love to hear some first-hand experience!
And huge kuddos to your DH for his recognition of your contributions to your family AND how intuitive of him to know that you needed a vacay! I would LOVE to stowe away in your suitcase, we LOVE to cruise and use to 2x a year but that ended 4 years ago. Boo!
