Progesterone supps - delay AF?

I'm 16dpiui and keep testing BFN. I'm on progesterone suppositories for the first time, and have LOVED the fact that I didn't spot and have had a nice, long LP. I just called the RE to ask when I should stop taking them and let AF come.

Has the progesterone kept you from getting AF? I actually might keep taking them through tomorrow so I can get AF on or after Sunday. That way I'd be way more likely to only miss ONE cycle as I wait for the appointment with my new RE rather than two.

Just curious what other's experiences have been. How long after stopping the progesterone did you get AF?

We are adopting! Currently waiting for our domestic infant adoption match.

    I hope you don't mind me responding - I wasn't going to at first, but since no one else has I thought I'd give you an answer.  I did 3 IUIs and was on Prometrium after each.  AF came 4 days after I stopped with the 1st, 8 days with the 2nd, and 6 days with the 3rd.
    It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

    Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops

    Mine did.  I don't know if I would have ever gotten AF on Prog.  I stayed on them until bfn beta.  I think it still took a few days after stopping for her to show up, maybe like 2-3?  GL.  Sorry for the bfn.

    I've taken progesterone the last three cycles.  1st time, AF showed 2 days after stopping progesterone, 2nd, 7 days after stopping and this time, I am still waiting, 4 days later.  The RE told me to stop taking them after negative beta.

    Hi hilaree-

    I got AF 2-3 days before my beta on both IUI cycles despite being on Endometrin.  It held off once I was on a PIO/Endometrin combo for my IVF cycle.  I got it 48 hours after stopping both the PIO and the supps.

    I still got my period on progesterone, but it keeps it at bay for a lot of women. It may take up to several days after stopping for your period to start.

    Did you have a beta yet? If my beta is negative they tell me to stop the progesterone. Some months AF came while I was still taking it. Sorry, BFN's suck.
