Ladies, I don't know if any of you are experiencing this w/ your LO but no one in my family is concern even the pedi. My DD is going to be 1 next week and she is down to a bottle and a half which is 12 oz on an average day. She doesn't like the taste of formula or whole milk. I've tried spooning, sippy cup, sippy straws but she gags on them. She loves to eat solids though, but I'm just afraid she is not getting enough nutrient from milk/formula b/c she doesn't drink enough. I feed her cheese and other source of diary but afraid that's not enough. She loves hamburgers!

any suggestions? she is gaining weight but not much she is almost 19lbs. Can I give her pediasure? tia.
Re: LO doesn't like milk
I had the same problem when DD turned 1. I weaned her easily, but she did not like milk at all. I continued (and continue) to offer it, but she never really took to it (and still doesn't). Tried other types of milk...soy, almond, rice...not anymore luck with those either. She does like cheese and loves yogurt (1 c yogurt provides about the same pro/calcium as 1 c milk), so those continue to be her main sources of calcium. I have tried smoothies made with milk and fruit. Some went over well, others not so well. Overall, she still didn't like those that much either.
Pedi hasn't been concerned, and I honestly am not either. I know she gets plenty of protein, calcium (major nutrients provided by milk), and other nutrients from other sources. She's growing fine for us so far (2 years old but the avg height of a 3 1/2 y/o, and weight is right on target for height).
We were in the same boat as beachbride and sadly she never really took to it either. The only way she'd take it was in a bottle at night and warm so we ended up giving her one at night before bed until she was two. I don't recommend that though as that was a hard habit to break!
Have you tried combining it with formula first like 75% formula and 25% milk and then gradually increasing the amount of milk and lessening the formula? That worked for us for the switchover initially. The only other thing that worked was me giving her a little bit of chocolate in it. I know, mother of the year, huh? I gradually decreased the chocolate until there was none and a few times she'd actually drink a sippy of it with dinner but then would refuse. I'm guessing she figured out I had tricked her and wanted her chocolate milk back but I wasn't comfortable giving her that all the time, ya know?
DJ is not a huge fan either. we still do a bottle of formula a night but i am going to wean that in the next month. i just make sure he has yogurt and cheese - he loves both.
im not too worried. ive hated milk my whole life. ive survived.
