I Saw The Time Travelers Wife Movie.

And it was hardly anything like the book..... And maybe I am a freak of nature, but I didnt cry at all....I felt like they didn't give you enough time to build up emotions for the characters....Also, if you read the book, prepare to be disappointed because they leave out half the characters in the book, and more than half the situations.. It wasn't really what I was expecting at all..Confused

Re: I Saw The Time Travelers Wife Movie.

  • I haven't read the book and I would love to. I really want to see this movie. It seemed like something really sweet to see and Eric Bana? YUM!
I hate being disappointed by a movie after I read the book.

  • I guess I didn't realize there was a book.  Maybe I'll do that instead.  I love to read books first.  Hmm, just the stupid commercials and previews made me cry recently!  But maybe that has nothing to do with the movie itself...

  • Movies are NEVER as good as the book.  It's a fact of life that I have come to terms with.

Except for The Godfather.  That book was a little f'd up, but the movie is awesome!!

  • Awww...that's sad. I just bought the book and I'm so into it. I love it already. I had a feeling the movie would disappoint, though. Thanks for the heads up!

  • I hated the book too, I'm an avid reader, my favorites are classic novels but I love fantasy and romance, this is the only book I didn't like.  I'm hoping the movie is better, I doubt it could be worse IMO!

I felt this way about My Sister's Keeper, the book was so great and the movie just butchered it.

I read My Sister's Keppe and my friend watched the movie and started telling me about it. I had to stop her cause it was so different and I wanted to see it for myself but it seems like they really killed it.

I'm not even going to go see the movie. So so so stupid. The ending was THE WHOLE POINT and they changed it! Not worth it!!!!

And yes thank you, I have one friend who felt the same as me about the book, but she is all I have found. It was too dark and twisty for me! I didn't like him very much... There were lots of weird things in that book...

Read it, love it, but then realize that the unpredictable ending is NOT what happens in the movie. Then decide whether you want to waste the 2 hours and 8 bucks ;) hehehehe

I saw that the other day.  I don't know how they are going to do that movie so that it even closely resembles the book.

Gosh all this talk about reading, I want to go home an pick up a book other than WTEWYE, Baby Bargains, or the bf book.

  • That is so disappointing to hear. I read the book and cried through almost the whole thing when it first came out. I was so excited about the movie. That stinks.
  • I know, the book is always better!  I haven't finished the book yet so I'll probably wait until next weekend to see the movie.
