I've never used one but all that I've heard about it is positive! Originally, I was planning to buy a sling to carry our LO, but I read tons of reviews about slings and heard that they can cause some pretty bad back pain. The Moby Wrap is ergonomically correct so it's supposed to be easier on your back and shoulders. DH and I are planning to purchase one before our son arrives!
I've know plenty of moms who LOVE THEM! I'm thinking of getting one this time around because they are so lightweight and snuggly. I thought I saw one at BRU last time I was there, but maybe it was just a sling. I have seen them in some stores (like baby/maternity boutiques mostly).
I have only been able to find them in baby boutiques. There is ONE in my area that sells them. BUT, they are super easy to make! Just buy 5 yds of a knit fabric that's stretchy, but not too stretchy, and doesn't need to be hemmed, and cut the width in half and then you have two!! I did this with some fabric that I got on sale for $4/yd. So I got two for $20!! And all the wrapping instructions are on the moby website.

That is such a fantastic idea. I'm going to do that. My friend uses one and we have a place on our downtown mall that will do demonstrations on how to wrap it. My friend went took me in a couple of days will her to get a demonstration for wrapping it for a backpack carry. Thay have correct wieght baby models to use to practice. I don't know if I would want to use it come summer time with LO because it is a LOT of fabric and my friend said it's hot.
I've made my own and have practice with a cat. I really like it and it even keeps my kitty snug as a bug in a rug. We won't be using the same one with the cats as we will with the kids atleast not without a wash or two inbetween.

What type of fabric do you suggest? I love this idea- I want to find some pretty fabric for one!
For winter a light weight fleece works great to keep you and baby warm while baby wearing. In the summer a light weight jersey knit is good I like something with some stretch too it but something sturdy enough to hold the weight of an infant.

Re: Moby Wrap
Never mind. It seems they are only online.
Still interested in hearing opinions though.

Hi, my sister uses one and loves it. They sell them at Target now. I just put it on my registry this week!
Just a note - she did look into buying the fabric and making one, but it turned out to be about the same cost so she just bought it.
