I know I'm late on responding, but I'd thought I should still share. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I went to Dr. Jose Picazo. Two women from my work recommended him so that's why I picked him. They raved about him. However, my experience with him was awful.
He was always so rushed at the appointments, never get me estimates on how big the baby was, never gave me any information at all. I had to ask what to stay away from and just things you would expect your doctor to be telling you. After all, this was my first pregnancy and I was only 21 years old. I felt like I kept having to make him do his job. I let that slide but after my delivery, I never went back to him for the follow-up.
First, I started having contractions at 3 AM. At 6 AM, I called the doctor's office who had Dr. Picazo call me back. He really didn't help me at all. He just said whenever I want to go in, to go. I could tell he was sleeping and just wanted to get me off the phone.
So, I go into the hospital around 10:00 AM. It was there that I found out that Dr. Picazo was off-duty that day. He didn't even have the decency to tell me when I spoke to him a few hours prior. Then, his replacement never even showed up, so I had just some random doctor (who was actually called off for an emergency c-section, so it ended up just being my husband and a nurse... except another random doctor checked in maybe the 3 times in the 3 hours I was pushing). I ended up having to push so long because Dr. Picazo never thought it would be any trouble to get a 9 lbs 2 oz baby out of a 100 lb girl. Needless to say, she got stuck under my pelvic bone and I had to get a c-section.It was just an absolutely horrible experience with him.
I changed to First State Womens Care in the Medical Arts Pavilion at the Christiana Hospital. I love them! I've also heard wonderful things about All About Women.
