Stress and the pregnancy?

so me and DH have been arguing most of today, and tonight it just got pretty outta control. im curious as how stress really affects the pregnancy, what it can do, etc. i am so worried i will lose the baby, esp after the threatened miscarriage scare. sometimes when im stressed i feel tightening in my ute region, but i dunno....hoping to get some feedback! thanks

Re: Stress and the pregnancy?

  • DH and I have a really awful argument about once every 2 weeks.  I can't imagine it being good for the baby, but I think you only have to worry if it's constant stress (arguing every day all the time).
  • I'm sorry about the fighting:(

Everyone experiences stress, and although it's probably not *great* for the baby, it is a part of life ocassionally.

  • i specifically asked my dr about this because i sometimes have panic attacks.  he told me the baby is fine, but to try and work on alleviating my stress as much as possible.  just overall, it's not good for anyone.
  • I'm sorry that you're having a rough time. I think chronic stress is more detrimental during pregnancy. I work in a very stressful environment-but when I start to worry, I try to think about women in undeveloped countries or war zones who deliver healthy babies despite extreme stress. It makes me feel a little better anyway.
