Hi girls.....Was wondering how old your little one is/was when they were fully potty trained?
DD turned 2 in July and we're struggling w/potty time. She goes "pee-pee" every evening after bath time, but that's about it. She doesn't recoginize when she's READY to go, only after she's went......I've tried big girl panties, and pull-ups, but so far nothing has really worked. We've tried stickers for potty time and we've tried rewarding w/$ tree toys, so far all a no-go.....She's still soaking through diapers at night, so do you think she's just not really ready yet?
Any tips of the trade will do! I was hoping to be potty trained before the end of summer....which now looks like will probably be the end of fall?
Re: Potty training tips???
does she still take a bottle to bed? My DS use to take his bottle to bed when we were trying to get him to sleep in his toddler bed, but his wet diaper kept him up! So out with the bottle (about 6 months ago) and he no longer wets through his diaper, even with his sippy close by at night.
But that's all I really have to say lol, I came to read the advice!
Nope...We cut the bottle over a year ago. She drinks a cup of milk about an hour before bedtime each night, but no, she doesn't take anything to bed to drink. She still saturates a diaper at night.
I guess my next option is to cold turkey it and go w/panties and stay home for awhile until she gets it? I feel like she's still young, but then I hear of so many moms that have their kids potty trained already at this age.
Many kids are PTd while awake long before they can hold pee while sleeping.
I have made zero effort to get DD out of diapers while sleeping and she's wet about 80% of naps and 99% of nights.
I did the 3 day method with DD. She was already poop trained, when we did it, but the kind of boot camp/intense focus on PTing was what she needed to get it. It was messy and took 2 weeks instead of 3 days to get accident free, it's not perfect.
We clap and cheer for potty success, no other rewards. But I agree with pp, you need to make aplan and stick with it. Be consistent.
