DH got laid off when DD was 4 weeks old. I went back to work when she was 8 weeks. DH just went back to work to his new job 3 weeks ago. And ever since he went back to work, life has been bonkers. He commutes 50 miles to work every morning. With that kind of commute, child care drop off/pick up falls completely to me. Heck, I don't pull in our driveway w/ DD until well after 6 pm. DH doesn't arrive home until well after 6:30. Dinner isn't until 8:30. I feel like I'm constantly go, go, going.
But tonight? Tonight I have a hair appointment after work. DH arranged his schedule so he can pick up DD and I won't have to worry about it.
Yup. I've got a meeting from 4-5. Then I'll head to the hair salon....which serves WINE for evening appointments. So I'll sit back, relax, nice glass of Pinot while she does my hair. No fighting the traffic to child care. No fighting the traffic to get home in time for DD's dinner bottle. Just me, a glass of wine, a new haircut.....maybe catch up on alittle Jon & Kate gossip.
Ahhhhhh. Its going to be HEAVEN.
Re: I can't describe how much I'm looking forward to tonight.
Enjoy your appointment! I wish I could do something like that. Your schedule sounds pretty close to mine but without DH being laid off. Just once though I would love for DH to pick DD up from daycare or drop her off. It is always on me, her daycare is half way between the house and my work but easily off the expressway. DH could swing by and pick her up just once, more so when he is working in the area, that is not too much to ask.
But now this made me think and that is that when DH gets home (after me) I am going to relax and have a glass of wine myself, so thank you. Just in case I don't get to, have a glass for me!
My twins are 5! My baby is 3!
