Can you tell me more about the infant program at Granada Day School? I think that's where you mentioned you'll be taking Camryn when you go back to work. What made you choose it? What did you like about it? Anything you disliked? Will Camryn be there till 1pm or will she stay in after school care?
I am on the waiting list right now to possibly start Emma in March 2010, if they have an opening. I passed by today to speak to the registrar and they only have 6 infants enrolled to start in the August term but then I believe they have a few more parents on the waitlist to start their infants in December and January...so there's a chance they might reach their 8 baby max before they get to me and it won't even be a possibility. But as of right now it's one of our more attractive options. Unfortunately I don't think we can arrange to have Emma picked up by 1pm every day so there will probably be several days where we'll have to end up paying for after care (which is soooo expensive). But they seem like one of the nicest, more professional places that I've looked into so far. I wasn't able to see the actual facility today since they're doing their summer clean up right now that they're not in session, but I plan to pass by at the end of August to give them another look.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to any feedback you may have. Thanks!!!
Re: g8orell
Yup...Camryn will be starting September 28th ::tear::...it was the only daycare that I walked in and felt comfortable...I'm glad you liked it too, that makes me feel better! I don't think there was anything I disliked, other than the cost, LOL...I liked that there is a security guard on site, I liked that the infants actually have a curriculum including art, music, etc...plus they are taken outside everyday. The rooms were very clean and each baby has a crib (with clear sides), their own sheets and whatever blanket, toys you want to bring. There were several swings, bumbo seats, etc. Also in that section were the 1's, 2's, and 3's. The other side of the school, near the playground, is the actual school (I think it goes to 3rd grade). The two women I met in the infant room seemed very nice..and when I walked in, none of the babies were just sitting in cribs or swings...they were all laying the center mat playing together.
Camryn will be there unil 5:45, so I do have to pay for the aftercare. Honestly though, I can't imagine working moms being able to get out at 1pm, so I would assume that most of them are there until 1pm, unless the moms don't work, but what's the point of that for an infant...I can see that for a toddler for socializaion.
Let me know if you have any other questions...I don't have too many answers because she hasn't started yet, but I'll let you know in 6 weeks

Thank you! I know she'll be fine, but I know I'll still cry!! At least at 12 weeks they don't have separation anxiety...that helps too! I will def. keep you posted on how it goes. I'm thinking of bringing her in for a half day or something the week before to see how she does. At least you have your MIL and mom there if you need them. My mom lives in Boca and is petrified to drive on the highway and my IL's live on the west coast. So she's going to be there until 5:45 everyday!! I'm trying to see if I can just work 4 days a week so that I have one day a week to spend with her!
Enjoy your pregnancy!! I miss it so much
I swear I still feel her kicking sometimes, LOL! Let me know if you have any other questions about anything, or need anything!
