7 month old boys- what do they wear?

Confession: DS is 7+ months old and he only wears onesies (with pants or shorts of course). I imagine at some point we "should" start transitioning to regular shirts. When does/did everyone else do this?

I'm so in the habit of buying onesies (and they are so cheap and convenient). He LITERALLY owns 2 white gerber ts and one Old Navy Polo. What is everyone else's LO wearing??

  • If onesies work why bother with regular shirts?

And, if your DS is not crawling yet, t-shirts just get in the way while they're crawling. In fact, they've only managed to piss DS off while he's getting around.

We ususally put DS in rompers. He's comfortable in them, and they're easy for his DCP.

    I like privacy. A lot.

  • He's always in just a onesie (no shorts/pants) unless I go out, and then sometimes I'll throw on a pair of shorts. It's just so hot here, and he sweats when he wears anything on his legs. I hate baby shirts. They are always riding up and I get so tired of pulling them down over and over. I have a few polos for nice ocassions, but we rarely use them. We use rompers sometimes too, they're not too hot.

  • I already have onesies in 18 month size! I usually dress him in either a onesie outfit, a regular one piece outfit, and occasionally a 2 piece shorts/top set.  I hate those because the shirts always rise and his belly hangs out.  I think he's ok in "baby" outfits until he's close to 2 or so.  Even then, I don't see a problem with onesies unless I'm working on potty training.
  • I know you said boys, but I am going to respond anyway...I am such a rebel! lol

Carson has been wearing regular clothes since she was a month old, at the latest. She wears a lot of onesies and buble suits around the house, just because they seem more comfy and they make diaper changes easy. But any time we leave the house she is dressed in a regular outfit. It is nicer now that she is bigger and can support herself more, shirts tend not to ride up as much. I

I'm thinking you might want to try incorporating some more "real" clothes as you begin to buy things for fall and winter.....but then again, I love little boys dressed like little men!

  • Mainly rompers to school/daycare....onesies at home.

  • Little boys are suppose to wear clothes? If we are home DS is in a diaper, he loves it. If we are just going to the store he wears a onesie usually, sometimes shorts, he hates anything around his belly though. If we are going out somewhere he has a couple cute outfits that he tolerates.

  • For the summer, he's pretty much only worn rompers- A little cuter than a onesie- some have a collar and stuff- but they're still just as easy!!

I have t-shirts people have bought us, but I'd like to put a onesie underneath 'cause they ride up so much! Then he'd be too hot. Can't win!

I'd like to dress him in a little short sleeve plaid and cargo shorts, but too much of a PITA!

  • DS wears rompers, bubbles, and jon-jons.  I never put him in 'regular' shirts b/c I can't stand for them to ride up.  Then again, I am not a fan of babies looking too old, so I'm perfectly fine with him wearing baby-ish outfits for a while (although DH will be fighting me on that before too long I think!!)!

  • Tristen wears Onesies still, but also wears T shirts.  Since he is allergic to Tagless garments we have to be careful what we put on him.  And finding shirts with tags these days can be tough.  So when he wears a tagless T shirt we put a white onesie inside out (so the tagless doesn't touch his skin).  At home he is in a top (onesie or T shirt) and bottoms sometimes.  When we go out it's usually shorts or Jeans.  He dresses almost Identical to his dad.
  • I started putting DS in t-shirts more around 9 months. He grows out of his onesies so fast anymore, and even the 24-month ones seem to shrink to the length of his 12-month ones. With t-shirts, if it gets a little short, it's not a big deal. Also, he's less likely to lay still long enough to take on/off both a onesie and pants during a diaper change now.

BUT, if he follows in our friends' footsteps and starts trying to take off his own diaper or put his hands down there, I'm going to switch him back to onesies and rompers.
