pregnant so soon after d&c

I had a d&c 7 weeks ago and still no aunt flo. Well I decided to take two pregnancy tests this morning and they were both positive. My doctor told me to wait 3 months before trying to concieve again. So I'm really nervous about calling him. Has anyone got pregnant this soon after a d&c?

    I got pregnant after 1 cycle and my dr. was happy for us.  They say you're more fertile the first 1-3 months after a d&c actually. And my doc told me 1 cycle and we were good to go, but it was up to us emotionally if we were ready.  Don't be worried to call the dr., you should be able to call him and not be nervous.  GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

    I would call and have your numbers tested. There is still a chance that you could have HCG in your system from your previous pregnancy or that you could be pregnant again. They can monitor the HCG to determine exactly what is going on.

    Do you chart? Do you know if you ovulated since the d&c? 

    If you are pregnant again, I would not beat yourself up about it. It happens and your body hopefully would not allow you to get pregnant again unless it is ready.

    Did your Dr track your betas until they were back to zero?

    Did your dr monitor your hcg levels after your d&c? With my first pg it took forever for the levels to get to zero and for me to get AF. It might be just residual hcg from your pg. Let us know how it turns out!

    I did!  Dr. said it was ok for us to go ahead and try.  So far so good!  Congrats! 

    1st pregnancy: m/c began 1/12/09 d&c 1/13/09 8wks. Baby stopped growing at about 6wks.

    Delaney: Born 10/15/09

    Gavin: Born 4/8/11

    Baby #3: due July 10, 2014

    I would have him check your betas.  However, it is very likely this is a new pregnancy!  I found out about my pregnancy at my 6wk f/u from my d&c.  From what I understand, HCG #'s go down faster after a d&c then they do with a natural m/c.

    This happened to me. My d&c was on 6/19 and by the end of July I was wondering where AF was. I have since had 3 betas done that went from 38 to 9000 to 20,458. So it is possible! So far everything seems ok but I'm beyond nervous and scared. Good Luck!!!

    My miscarriage was a bit different, a failure of misoprostol....so I had a D&C over two months later.  Anyways -- I did get AF 3 weeks post D&C and then 3 weeks later I conceived.  So that was 6 weeks later.  Don't be scared.....congrats to you!

    You could still have HCG in your blood, it took me forever for mine to drop .  However I would call the doctor and and find out.  If he is upset oh well, there are others that have got pg right afterwards and went on to have a healthy baby!!!

    We had 2 years of IF trying to conceive #2 and one loss during that time. We are currently trying for #3! had another loss the end of June

    I have a friend this happened to also. She actually ended up concieving 2 weeks after her D&C. She did not get her period for what seemed forever. I kept telling her to call her doctor. She had her betas drawn and it was indeed a new pregancy. The doctor had told her to wait as well but was not mad at all. So far she is 10 weeks along and doing great! Lots of luck!

    I would guess you're pregnant and that it's not residual hCG. I got negative pregnancy tests maybe two weeks after my D&C? It didn't take that long. I actually got pregnant before I got my period following my D&C (which is what I suspect happened with you!) - my D&C was Jan. 8 and I got a positive HPT on Feb. 11. It's possible that you're halfway through your first trimester already! My doctor told us to wait a cycle but said that it wasn't a big deal if we got pregnant before that (I asked him about it at my post-surgery follow-up appointment). Best of luck to you!

    That is exactly what happened to me to positve pregnancy test before aunt flow. I'm having symptoms of my first pregnancy so I had decided to test. I am so glad to know that it is possible! I thought I was crazy. I guess I need to make an appt with my doctor now!
