I'm on stim day 4 with Follistim (currently at 4 vials of 75ius) and holy crap does it burn! Any tips on taking some of the burn away? My IVF nurse said to let it sit on the counter for 5 minutes before drawing it up, but that didn't help. The prescription insert said to let the vials come to room temp first. Has anyone tried this? If so how long does it take to get to room temp and does it work? I'm doing subq injections with a regular syringe & needle instead of the pen.
By the way, I'm new to this board - so hello! I used to post on TTC 12 months+ but lately I've found this board to be more insightful and helpful. Good luck to everyone and thanks for any advice!
Re: The Burn of Follistim
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before injection. It burns for about 5 seconds but that is it. I would try this.
Good luck!!
i always take it right out of the fridge but the only time it will burn is if i don't let the alcohol dry first. but i use the pen . . .
Good Luck
