explain the 4 month wakefulness

Lo got his shots on monday...he has been a cranky poo ever since...my mom tells me it maybe teething..anyway he usually woke up 2 times at night to feed then would go back to sleep. the last two nights he has been waking up and crying (which he hardly every did before) and it has been 5-7 times during the night. normally my baby is great please tell me if this qualifies under the 4 month wakefulness.
