Baby is.... pulsing? Anyone else?

I've noticed yesterday and today some times when baby is gently "pulsing".  It's very mild.  I just don't know what it is.  It's slower than my heart rate, but faster than my rate of breathing.  Maybe it's baby's rate of breathing?

Anyone??   TIA!

Edit: it is not hiccups: feels very different than those do.

The first time I noticed the "pulsing" it was down low, just above my pubic bone, and today it was up high where her head still is (breech).

  • are you sure its baby and not the placenta?  the placenta also carries a heartbeat and for obvious reasons pulsing..  it could be either or

I don't think you'd be able to feel baby breathing..

  • I have started having that feeling. Last week it happened during an NST scan and I could hear it. The nurse said it was hiccups. Then a few minutes later during an ultrasound I could feel and see it happening, the tech said yep she has the hiccups. Probably just hiccups your feeling.

  • I think I know what you are talking about- I get it too...I have NO idea what it is though
  • Mine was just doing this 2 min. ago!  I felt something pulsing and was able to see one area next to my belly button going up and down in a pulsating pattern, it continued for about a min. or so.  I just watched it, it was so wierd!  I have no idea what it was.

I've started feeling this almost every evening after we eat and I've decided it's hiccups.

  • totally... hiccups
  • I noticed the same exact thing this past weekend. I'm with you...I know it's not hiccups, but I have no idea what it is. Somebody on this board suggested that the umbilical cord may be pressed against my stomach and pulsing. Who knows!
  • I know exactly what you're feeling because I have felt it too. And it is NOT hiccups
  • I would think it's the blood pulsing through the womb/placenta.

This. If its hiccups, its the weirdest ones I've ever felt.

  • I felt the pulsating today too and even posted something about it as well. It is NOT the hiccups. The hiccups are more spaced out. This is like a heartbeat or breathing. I mean I know it is not my heartbeat or anything. It's very weird. I've been having BH like crazy all day too.

  • I just started to notice that to. I don't know what it is, it doesn't happen all the time, or last for long periods of time.
