The first time DS had a cold, we went to the pedi (same symptoms) - there's not much they can do. They recommended saline drops followed by nasal aspirator for his nose and putting a humidifier in his room when he slept. We did both and his cold only lasted maybe a few days.
we do saline drops and suction when it's bad. There's really not much you can do, but the saline drops are really safe and work well to help get all that gunk unclogged and out. Just watch it, bc the first snotty nose C had, she had it pretty bad for over a week and then it turned into an ear infection. Pedi said that's about the most popular way to get ear infect, since her nasal cavity was all clogged up for awhile.
Aiden has the same thing, he woke up a couple times last night not being able to breathe! Suction and humidifier in his room. We have this nose sucker and I LOVE IT!! Worth every penny, it is amazing how much you can suck out in a few seconds!
