britax marathon exp. date

Anyone know where to find it?  Got one as a gift and looked all over the thing to no avail.

    You won't find an expiration date but the date of manufacture is on the right side (I think) as you are facing it.  Look near the top on the side. You will have to pull the cover back a bit. It will be on a white sticker.  If I'm wrong about the side then check the other side.  Mine is in DH's car and I can't go check right now.

    I think it's 6 years.

    NHTSA recommends replacing your car seat every 5 years.

    Did you get a used one as a gift?  Can you be sure it wasn't in any kind of accident before you got it?

    Each company tests and sets their own expiation date.  Most are 6 years. Peg perego is 5 years, others are 7, some (low back boosters only) are as long as 9 years.

    It's new, but this color was cheaper than the others so I figured it was probably a little older.  It was manufactured in 12/08.
