Every sleep issue post seems to say that everything was fine until vacation - I'm getting nervous for my trip in 2 weeks, LOL!!! Anyone have any positive vacation/sleep experiences to share?
We took an almost week long vacation, and I won't lie - our first two nights were hell. D was up every couple hours and we were considering cutting our vacation short. Then, suddenly, the 3rd night, he completely went back to normal, thank goodness. And his naps while we were on vacation were almost better than at home, probably because we were doing a lot of things.
We had no issues when we came back home w/ him getting back on schedule, either. I think he was just so happy to be home!
We went to the cabin for a long weekend fourth of july and and following weekend two hours north of here. All was fine for us. She took a little longer to fall asleep up there but was fine coming home.

Both my kids started sleepign through the night at my parents house. We went when my DD was 6 weeks and DS not until 6 months. Next time I'm visiting at 2 weeks
We've been to England several times with the kiddos and they always do fine. Naps are harder than night, but usually they are so wiped out from busy days they just crash.
DD was great when we were gone for 2 weeks! Some nights she went down giving us a little fight though. But, sleeping now that we are at home is tough. Her schedule is still a little wacky and unpredictable. I think she might be cutting a tooth too so that might be adding to it. But, I have been thinking she was cutting a tooth for the last 2 months!
We had soem minor issues, especially the first night - we had to co-sleep for a few hours. I think DD was just freaked out being in a strange room, strange crib, alone. After the first night though, she did continue to wake up once to be fed which is unusual - but it also might have been that she was soooo active during the day she need to make up for it at night.
We just tried to keep her routines as much the same as possible. Quiet bedtime bottle w/ just DD and Mommy, a few minutes of rocking/pacifier/blankey and then bed.
We had a great experience. We went away for about 2 weeks and changed time zones. We went from eastern time to mountain time. She adjusted within a day to the time difference. (We only got woken up at 5am once). She slept great in the pack and play the whole time. When we got back it just took her two days to get back on eastern time.
We brought her bunny (must have bunny) with us and just made sure she had it for every nap and bedtime and she did great. You can do it - it will be okay. Kids are great at adapting.
We went on vacation when DS was 8 months old. He slept great! He only got up one night for about 10 minutes. We rented a crib and he had his own room. I think that having his own room defintely helped. I don't remember having any issues with his sleep when returned home.
DD has done fine when we've traveled up north w/ her. The biggest problem we have is that she's a light sleeper, and she has to be in the room with us, so we have to really try to be extra quiet so as to not wake her up. But really, it has never been 'that' bad, and she's always slept even better when we've gotten home, b/c I think she's so happy to be back in her crib.
Re: Has anyone had a good vacation/sleeping experience??!!
Gina, if your LO is anything like mine - she did BETTER when we go to Seattle. She STTN for my parents - she loves it there.
I personally thinks she is showing off for my parents...lol....

Actually on vacation, DS ended up with us most nights at about 2 am.
When we got back I put the bumpers on his crib and he's STTN ever since. I think the poor guy was knocking his head and waking himself up.

DD slept like crap when we went to Disney. She was up all night , every night and ended up in bed with us (not that it helped in any way though).
When we got home, she went back to normal.
