2nd Trimester

What age are you registering to?

I'm looking at my registry and realized that 98% of the stuff will get me through the first 6 months. After that, I don't have much, mostly because I'm not really sure what else to get - besides infant things.

So what is the highest age of stuff you are registering for (ex: toddler cups and feeding sets, highchair, art supplies, step stools?). I don't want to come off as greedy or expecting people to foot the bill for my kids first 5+ years of life, but if it's normal to register for more than baby things then I need to get crankin'.

Re: What age are you registering to?

  • I'm doing the first year. Stopping at the toddler gear.

  • We are having 3 showers, so we registered for random bath stuff, potty training seat, sippy cups, spoons, placemat and bowl that stays put, ect.  I guess up to about 18 months or so?  I just kind of added random fillers.  We won't be disappointed if we don't get them, but if we do we'd be happy about it.

  • The first year, I would say mostly up until about 6 months.  (No potty chairs etc.)
  • I put infant only. However, I have bought clothes up to size 4t. I can't stop myself.

I am also having 3 showers and I too registered for random stuff in addition to infant items. I did register for the potty seat but not bowls or any of those smaller items. For clothing I registered for up to 1 year.

  • I think it's pretty normal to register for high chairs, sippy cups, some utensils, etc.  I just wouldn't include potty chairs, big kid toys, or the like cause that seems a little far off.  Plus, it puts the bigger kid stuff on your list and if you want to get it with the 10% coupon, it's a good way to get a discount!
  • I didn't really think about it in terms of age, but I guess all of the stuff I registered for is for first year. I figure if you are registering for a high chair it makes sense to register for basic feeding supplies. I am not planning on registering for a potty seat or other toddler stuff partly because that seems a little far out, and also because we have a REALLY small house.
