We aren't doing it. We figure.. the only thing that can happen is to find out there MIGHT be a problem. Even then it could be a false postive..
but if finding out there MIGHT be a problem, it wouldnt change our minds about the pregnancy. We wouldnt abort just because there is a problem. All knowing would do, would be to cause a lot of anxiety over the next 30 weeks or so over something we can't change, and can't even gaurentee will happen.

My Signature won't work! I am a proud mommy of two (1&3) and starting an adventure to help a family having a baby through surrogacy.

It has to be done between 11-13 weeks, so if your ticker is right and you want one then you need to call your doctor today. My OB doesn't do the scan and the people who do book up fast because so many OBs use them.

So agree with this. God will look over our unborn baby!

My DH and I feel exactly the same. We're opting not to.
We haven't completely decided - but I am leaning towards not doing it. I'm not going to do anything differently regarding the results - it's not even about God or faith for me. Chances are very good that everything will be fine.

I completely respect your opinion however, there are some things that can be repaired/fixed inutero if they are found early enough. Just something to think about.

I haven't decided yet, and I don't know my DH's opinion yet. My friend (who now has a healthy 7 month old daughter) took the test and it showed that there was a chance for Down Syndrome. Luckily baby Autumn was born happy and healthy, but my poor friend was so worried for all that time before hand. I'm not sure what I want to do.
Why wouldn't you have it done? It's just another opportunity to see that sweet baby on u/s.
We had a very stressful experience the first time. They couldn't get the correct measurements and the numbers kept changing. There's a lot of room for human error in that test. I can understand why someone who is a worrier would rather skip it.

True! I didn't even notice your ticker.

I understand that. I should have clarified....it is part of his prenatal care for every woman. Of course you can decline if you choose to.

This exactly!
Your not alone, we aren't doing it either. Or any other extra testing for that matter. We figure it's all going to happen as it does.
