Congrats on another week of pumping!

I'm sorry I missed last week's check-in. I completely forgot about it. Since I am no longer pumping, I am hardly ever on the computer. Plus, DH is off on Mondays (his office does 4 day work weeks) so I am sleeping in (yay!) and then spending the day with him and DS. I apologize again for forgetting.

I am still looking for a replacement. Please, please PM me if you are interested. I will be here next monday, but I will be out of town on August 24th for our anniversary.

Let's give our rants and raves about pumping and just a general update on how things are going! Happy Pumping!

Well I broke the rules and dropped a pump before 12 weeks. I now go 6 hours at night, and I've been doing this for about a week. So far, there's been no discernible drop in my supply. So things are going well for me! We're buying a deep freezer because our regular one is getting too full of my milk!

I didn't realize there was an EP check-in! How wonderful! I've been pumping for almost a year and I *think* I will continue to for a bit longer, just need to get DH on board a bit more: he says he's ok with me continuing pumping, but I think he'd like for me to not be dependent on the pump all the time wherever we go.

it's 10 months for me tomorrow and i almost can't believe it! the end is almost in sight! my rant is that i still hate being tied to the pump. i still feel like it controls many aspects of my life. but i have to say that i'm really proud of making it this far. i just dropped to 3 pumps (like yesterday) and so far so good. DD is eating a ton of solid food so we've been cutting her BM back a bit. takes a bit of pressure off of me & she's thrilled with her 3 solid meals. thank goodness for a good eater!

Hi ladies! I actually don't EP anymore. I latched LO on a month ago and we've been nursing ever since. I still have to pump 2x per day due to an over supply. Please remove me and good luck to everyone!

Could you please move me to the Cows section? Logan will be 4 months on Friday and I've been pumping since day 1!

Pumping is going pretty good. We just added another ounce to each bottle, so he's eating 5oz every 3 to 4 hours. I am definately not making that amount so I've started pumping at night again. So far he hasn't passed me, but I do have a good freezer stash.

I love pumping, as much as anyone could I guess! I hate the negative reactions I get when I tell ppl that I pump rather than BF, but my baby is getting the best possible from me and I love that I can give that to him and I get tons of help from DH. I wouldn't change a thing.

I am new and totally lost. Emmelee was born Thursday night at 11 pm and we have latch issues. Apparently my big boobs and her tiny mouth are not meshing. So, Sunday morning at 6 am DH was at Walmart buying me a pump. We've been EPing since. I had done lots of bfing research and the class, but did not plan on pumping until after the first month, so I'm very lost on EPing.

Any recommendations on resources on EPing would be appreciated. I have lots of resources on bfing but most don't have extensive info on EPing.

I've headed out to pasture. I stopped EPing on Aug. 1 and I have only had to pump once since then for a few minutes to relieve the discomfort. Here is a post that I wrote last week in case you need motivation:

I stopped EPing as of Aug. 1 and have been giving DD a combination of frozen BM and formula. Dealing with the formula has made me realize how much better the BM was. First day I stopped EPing, DD had bad constipation which we think was from the formula (she never had it before). Then you would think that making formula is easier than dealing with EPing. I think EPing is easier. The BM is easier to deal with and has a longer shelf life. If DD doesn't finish a bottle of formula, it has to be finished within an hour or i have to throw it out, BM can be put back in the fridge. Figuring out how much formula she will drink varies and can be wasteful if she doesn't finish the serving. Just thought i'd share this insight.

**The constipation happened a second time. The kind that gets stuck in the butt!!!!! Poor DD.

New to the check-in! I've been pumping 12 months and 3 weeks! Don't know how much longer I will be pumping as I only pump once a day or every other day but I'm still doing it!

I'm headed out to pasture too! I've pumped once since Saturday night. I'll pump again tonight and see how much I get to decide if I need to pump again or not. I'll be done in the next day or so. I made it 11.5 mos, and I never ever would have done it without help from some lovely ladies on this message board and the ivillage one. It feels GREAT to have my breasts almost back to normal (wearing a pre preggo bra!)
