I am right there with you. Our litter box is in the laundry room, which DH never goes into. I have to constantly smell it and like all of you, my sense of smell is so sensitive that the smell of the cat's pee makes me wanna vomit. I am so tired of telling DH to clean it out that I am extremely tempted to just get rid of the damn cat!

I'm right there with you. Seriously, it's been 26 weeks now. Why can he still not remember? I am inches away from buying long plastic gloves and mask next time I go shopping so I can do myself. (probably won't happen, I worry too much about the baby) I feel so bad for my cats.
Fortunately I had both my cats tested and neither of them have any toxins in their urine or fecal matter. So I've been cleaning it every so often because if I don't then the poop just piles up!!!! It's so gross. And my husband will just say "I don't smell it." Well I do and on top of smelling it, I can see it!! I mean would he like it if I never flushed the toilet and he had to poop or sit on a bowl filled with crap?? I don't think the kitties like it either and it's not very nice.
I also read online that if your cat is strictly indoors they are less likely to have any toxins in their waste. I dunno how true that is or if anyone else has heard that before.
My cats will remind DH on their own. First it starts with complaining. They'll meow extra. Then they'll attempt to 'lead' you to the litterbox.
After that? They pee on something. Usually the floor, sometimes DH's socks.
He let it get so bad they peed once. I simply told him that that is how the cats 'revolt' against a stinky litterbox. I have not had to remind him since.
My DH had a hard time remembering at first, so I would pretend to start changing it (when he was around of course) and he would freak out and say "I need to do that! You're not supposed to change it!"
We have Littermaid, so the only thing to do is to change the plastic cartridge once a week, takes about five minutes.
We have a littermaid too, but with 2 cats, it needs to be cleaned 2x a week. We also have a regular box, which clearly they prefer, since it needs to be cleaned out every other day and the Littermaid get used much less frequently. But, DH is a total slacker. I'm waiting for a cat to pee or poo on the bed again - he wont' forget any more....
Re: Reminder to DH- CLEAN THE FLIPPING LITTER BOX!
I second this notion! DH is litter deliquent!
He thinks the cat has a bladder issue, I know the cat has a litter issue....
