2nd Trimester

Reading Time Travelers Wife

It is really good!  So creative and a bit odd in a good way. I can't wait to get home and read.  I got about half way through yesterday.

I have found that the book is always better than the movie so I wanted to read it before I saw the movie.

I kind of got tired of reading all baby books so this is a nice little break.

Re: Reading Time Travelers Wife

  • I have that next on my reading list.  I have about 3 books that I am currently reading because I just cannot satisfy myself with my reads since I'm PG.  Too funny!  In terms of "baby books" -- Did you read "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy?  I found it nice and light-hearted and TOTALLY hilarious!

  • I can't wait to read this book. I'm finishing up another series right now but when I'm done, it's first on my list.
  • I cant wait to read it! I'm on the waiting list for it at the library.
  • The movie previews got me interested so I will have to put that on my to read list.  I also really getting sick of reading pregnancy books.

  • Yeah, I liked it at first but by the end I was wishing that I hadn't read it while I was pregnant.
  • The commercials for this movie freaked my DH out. He saw the grown man with the little girl and then the grown man marrying grown girl. He did not approve. lol

This is one of my all time favorite books. It's incredibly well written.

However I should warn you, (SPOILER ALERT), there's some serious bawl-fests to come as it relates to them TTC (needless to say, they have trouble).

My DH scored us passes to a free screening of the movie on Wed, and he meant it as a nice surprise, but I'm a little unsure I want to go as I LOVE the book so much and the previews are just disappointing me... Sigh. Put on happy face - DH meant well.

Yeah, in the first half they've mentioned very briefly something about TTC issues.

I know the Notebook movie ruined the book for me.  The book was so much better.

That was his daughter.lol He goes forward in time and sees the daughter they have. There's another part of the preview where he's telling his wife how beautiful their daughter is and she's all "you saw her". Funny...I would have thought the other scenerio was weird too.

In the book from what I've gathered so far he meets her for the first time when she is an adult.

Hmm...I don't find that true for myself.  If you watch the movie first you will automatically picture everything as it was in the movie and you won't get to form your own ideas (what the character looks like, what the places look like, etc.)  But that's just been my experience.

  • I loved this book. I hope the movie does it justice!
