My EDD was on 03-16-09. When I went to my app on the 12th my Dr. stripped my membranes and told me that if I didn't go into labor by my EDD that on the 17th we would set a date for me to be induced. At 5:08 a.m. on the 13th I woke up had my bloody show and what I immediately knew was a contraction. I woke up my boyfriend and told him it was the real deal. He made us breakfast then once the doctors office opened I called and set up a time to come in. After we arrived at the doctors (10 am.) I was examined and found to be only 1cm. My contractions were anywhere from 8 to 20 minutes apart and 30 seconds in length. My doctor suggested I go walk around the mall and when my contractions were 5 minutes apart to go to the hospital. We walked around the mall till about 1p.m. then came home to walk around our apartment complex. Slowly my contractions became consistently 5 minutes apart and around 4 p.m. we headed to the hospital. When examined at the hospital I was only a 2 then as the night went on I progressed to a 4. At 9:30 I received my epi and it allowed me to sleep through the night. The morning of the 14th I was only a 5 so they stopped the pictocin to see if that would help. Well, it did. By 12pm I was 10cm and ready to push. The next 3 hours flew by but still no baby. At 3p.m. my Dr. told me my baby was stuck because he didn't have enough room to slide under my pelvic bone (a pelvic deformity due to scoliosis that was not discovered at any examination). It was quickly decided that I would have a c-section and before I knew it I was being wheeled into the o.r. At 4:20 p.m. after 35 hours of labor and an emergency c-section my beautiful baby boy was born. My boyfriend, who is tough as nails, cried the sweetest tears I have ever seen. Recover was hard but every moment was worth it. I have a family now, a little human that am I responsible for. I love my boys with all my heart.
