I'm going shopping with my mom this week and I'm looking for new shoes. I work on my feet and my tennis shoes are too restricting. For those of you who have worn crocs what do you think?
I have fake crocs and they are super comfortable. However, I tend to trip in them a lot (maybe I'm just clumsy?) so I'm not wearing them now that I'm pg.
I agree that they aren't very attractive - but I didn't really care!
They are super comfy.. i love them but do put the strap behind your heal as i sometimes tend to get a stiff foot ( missing a step, but not tripping ) Oh and they are great for cleaning and mopping the floors.. I also bought a pair for my grandmother who cleans houses as an extra, and she loves them she says they are the only shoes who dont get slippery when the floor is wet with soap..
I would recommend them specially if you work on your feet.

But for work attire, it depends... I see a lot of nurses and medical staff wearing them.. I think they match well with scrubs.. but other than that just running around grocery shopping kinda shoes..
I live in my uglyasss crocs any time I am not wearing work shoes.
I have a foot problem and it was so severe they wanted to cut my foot open and take out a nerve and expect me to just live with the numbness and tingling I'd experience. My neighbor suggested crocs and they have been my savior.
I was workin on my feet at the time I made the switch, and wearing sneakers was just horrible even after only an hour of working. Wearing the crocs let me get through the day and still be able to stand after work at the gym or something.
Also, another good thing about crocs and the nonslip factor....I am clutsy and one day while shopping at an outdoor mall in the rain my DH and I bought our croc flipflops because I busted my asss in plain flips...made such a difference.
Sorry for the long reply. I would definitely try them. The flip flops are my favorite right now...they're under my desk. :-)
Super comfy and conform to your feet. I wouldn't wear them for extended periods because there's no real support.
I work retail and spend my shifts standing/walking on concrete floor..I own a pair of crocs and for the first few wks they were great. As they started to wear down though (concrete floor) I got a torn arch (I am prone to these before the crocs) from the lack of support...I now own MBT's and will never go back...(these shoes are truly an investment shoe but have reduced my chiro bills and foot/back pain immensely!)
If you aren't pounding away on concrete floors, crocs were great for a while, just had to replace them every 3wks for me..
Edit: pp reminded me about their sandals! LOVE the flip flops!! MUCH more support than their normal croc shoes. Bought my flips on a trip to CA and wore them all over and felt great!
I have these ones which are super comfortable but after about 4 months I started tripping on the toes as other's have mentioned.
I am a teacher and am planning on buying the standard clogs before I go back to work in 3 weeks. I'm only working for 9 weeks before maternity leave but that will be from 29-38 weeks so when I need comfort the most.
If you're looking for good shoes for being on your feet all day that aren't as hidious as crocs check out a nursing/scrubs store. I love my Nursemates and there's always the more expensive Danskos which are comfy too... just fyi

I can't stand the way the big clog crocs look. I think they are hideous. However they make some cute ones. I have 2 pairs of the malindi crocs - black and tan. I don't think most people realize that they are crocs at all. I wear them walking the dog, going for walks during lunchtime... very comfortable.

Crocs actually make some pretty cute mary jane style shoes called "Alice".
I broke a toe years ago, and am prone to some entertaining foot pain if I'm not careful what I wear. I go for the "big ugly" Crcos when I'm teaching, and the cuter ones for looking decent in public. The only problem I have with the Alice Crocs is the strap button tends to rub the inside of my foot. I wear little ankle socks and it solves the problem.
