All the time I was hunting for a new job I was trying to find something FT. After a few unsuccessful interviewsI finally accepted something part time at my current hospital. I start next week.
I just got a call from the other hospital close by, and they wanted to know if I wanted to interview for something FT at their place. I told them no, since I already accepted the other job.
I want to cry.

Re: I want to cry...
wait what?? you wouldn't even a) interview to see what they had to offer b) entertain another job that is FT, which is what you wanted. it's not like you have a contract with the current hospital to stay there. weird!
I would have at least interviewed for it.
Also, if I would have been offered the FT job after the interview, I would have taken it. Who cares if you just got hired and then you quit...you have a better opportunity, so I would take it!
Ditto this times 12 - this happens A LOT - you can quit the PT job if you were offered the other job - call them back ASAP & see if you can still interview.
I just did. I left a message because she didn't pick up. I hope she calls me back! I just feel like it's frowned upon/bad form to drop the other job if that's what happens.

It's at the hospital where I have worked for the last 3 1/2 years. It's not like it's a completely new employment. Not that it completely explains why I feel weird about it, but it counts for something.

frowned upon? who the F cares? If you need more money, you do what you have to do. it's just business. jeeezuschrist it's looking worse calling this lady back changing your mind if you ask me.
Yes, recruiters hate that BUT you have to do what's best for you and your family. If you end up resigning the PT job - just explain you got FT elsewhere - they won't like it but they will understand (unless they're totally heartless).
When I got a call from the recruiter about the PT job, they asked me if I was still going to be looking, and I said no. The thing is, I applied to this job even before I applied to the PT job at my hospital. Things just happened with that one a lot faster. I interviewed just a few days after I applied.

While it's not ideal, employers do understand.... especially when turning down a PT offer for something FT. ?I mean, who could argue with that? ?And it's not like you signed a contract stating you will work for the hospital for X years! ?So glad she called you back.?
I understand you feeling kinda bad about it but it's not like it's gonna go on your resume'. Jobs are so scarce right now and everyone is looking for one, the PT place will have the position filled in no time if you can take the FT job. You have to do whats right and best for your family.
Total kudos on your loyalty though!!
ETA: Just read some more of the responses and saw that you have worked there before. I don't think it makes it any easier but I'm sure they will understand your situation. GL!
