3rd Trimester

Stroller Question

DH and I finally went to register this weekend.  DH really wants to get a jogging stroller, and I would like something that the infant seat can snap into.  After spending both Saturday and Sunday at different Babies R Us's in our area and trying a bazillion different strollers out, we didn't find one.  We both would like one that folds up nice and compact and we like the one handed fold options.  Just curious as to what stroller everyone else went with, b/c we really need help!

TYIA!

  • Chicco Cortina Travel System.

It gets awesome reviews and everyone I know who has it, loves it!

  • We have a Bumbleride Indie.

You can jog (lightly) with it, & a carseat snaps into it.  Also, we got to choose our carseat (we went with Chicco Keyfit 30, but Graco & Peg Perego both fit well in a Bumbleride).

So like a custom travel system.

It's 20 lbs, so super-light & it folds very easily.

  • We went with the City Mini and I know they have a new version out that is great for jogging.  Not sure what it's called.  the baby faces you, snaps in and it's a "jogger".  It's SUPER light weight, compact and has a great umbrella feature.  It is the ONLY stroller we got b/c it will hold the LO until he is 55 lbs.  Great stroller and we've tested it out with other parents who have loved it ...two of my friends have gotten it since we've had ours.

    BRU does not sell it.

  • We got the Chicco Cortina Travel System in discovery.
  • We have the Baby Trend Expedition system. It doubles as a jogging stroller which is the main reason that we got it.

  • We got the BOB Revolution.  Our Graco snugride snaps into it, so I can start my walks/jogs when baby is still in the infant seat.  It's a really nice jogger.

This is the same one we got - just a headsup, the stroller is not very compact when folded. It takes up my entire trunk.

  • We were looking at the Chicco Keyfit infant seat, so I'm glad to hear that mentioned more then once.  The City Mini was one option we were looking at, but I may need to look into the Bumbleride if that is already known to fit the Chicco.  I'm making a list of all of these to check out during the week!  Thanks ladies!

  • We got the Inglesina Zippy. There is a great video review of it on youtube.

I know for sure that it fits the Graco Snugride (that is what we got). It folds up easily with one hand, weighs 17 pounds, and is just the most awesome stroller ever.

we looked at this one, it did seem really bulky when DH folded it, glad to hear someone elses opinion was the same!

  • The City Mini does not adapt to the Chicco.  We decided on the Snugride 32 instead which gets equally good reviews here and in Baby Bargains.
  • We are getting the Phil & Teds sports stroller.  there is an attachment that will allow you to put you carseat into.  I just bought the stroller online today but the website that i bought it from did not have the attachment for the Chicco carseat available.  I am going to try to find it on another website.

good to know!  There was a Snugride that we had our eyes on as well, so if we decide to go with the City, we'll just go with the Snugride instead.

  • I have the Chicco Cortina in Extreme. LOVE it!

  • we went with the BOB revolution and a graco snugride 32 after numerous recommendations.  the BOB is not a one-handed fold (at least for me yet!) but it's quite easy, and a highly recommended jogging stroller.

  • We have the Combi Cosmo DX limited edition travel system.  It's not always sold as a travel system (I'm think that's why it's limited edition?  ha), but we got a great deal on it!  It was actually a gift, but I got to pick it out.  SO glad I did!  Very stylish and not your typical bulky baby travel system.

The stroller itself is only 12.9lbs, I believe.  The actual carrying capacity is 55lbs, so we're set.

  • Baby Jogger City Mini.  We picked it because it folds up compactly,  is lightweight, and we will be able to use from infancy to 40 lbs.  Just ordered it this weekend, and I can't wait to get it!

  • We got the Graco Metrolite.  It is very light, but still feels sturdy.  Here is the product description:

The aluminum-framed MetroLite provides the sturdiness of a standard sized stroller with the comfort and convenience of a lightweight stroller. The comfy seat reclines to 3 positions, including nearly flat for infants. An adjustable handle allows mom and dad to each adjust the stroller to their height needs and both mom and dad are sure to enjoy the one-hand fold mechanism which makes storing the stroller a breeze. An extra-large lower & load storage basket makes it easy to access even when your child is asleep! The MetroLite also features an infant head rest, a large canopy with canopy visor, and top and rear peek-a-boo windows. This stroller is also equipped with a parent organizer and child snack tray - both outfitted with a cup holder. Best of all, this stroller accepts Graco? SnugRide? and SafeSeat? infant car seats!

  • We got the BOB Revolution.  Our carseat - Britax Companion snaps into it but we had to buy the adapter to go with it.  LOVE it!!  I can't wait to use it :)

I would look at the City Series by baby jogger. They aren't "true" jogging strollers but they do have 3 wheels and really easy one had fold and an adaptor for most major car seats.

We got the Baby Jogger City Classic and purchased the car seat adapter separately.  We have the snugride 32 and it works perfectly.  It folds up easily and doesn't take up too much room (maybe a quarter of my honda accord's trunk).  The big difference between the mini and the classic, other than the classic being a bit bigger, is the wheels.  The mini has plastic wheels, the classic are rubber air-filled.  We will be doing a lot of "off rode" walking so the air filled wheels work better for us.

  • You can get a BOB stroller, which is a running stroller, and get the carseat attachment.

Another rec for the Baby Jogger City Mini. That thing folds like a dream. One-handed and literally in seconds. You also might want to consider just buying a snap and go for the carseat. They're usually under 70 bucks and most people find them worth the money.
