1st Trimester

should i contact the dr?

So this is my 2nd pregnancy, but I am having a rough go at it, and I think it might be because I am chasing an 11 month old around.

The last few days I have felt a bit dizzy or lightheaded periodically.  I don't know if its just from not eating or drinking enough, or what's going on.  At the end of my last pg I had a lot of problems with high blood pressure.

My first prenatal appointment is on Aug 31, when I will be 10 weeks.  Should I try to see someone sooner?

Re: should i contact the dr?

  • Being dizzy and lightheaded is a symptom of pregnancy so I wouldnt be too worried about it. If it gets worse I would call

    DS #1- Ares Christopher

    DS #2- Taj Lee

    DD #1 Alba Gray

    Baby #4- coming in May

  • I would call the dr and ask about it since you have a history of high blood pressure.  The dr can decide if you should just stick with your appointment date or should come in sooner.

This. It's best to err on the side of caution.
  • If it makes you feel better I was very dizzy and lightheaded for the first couple of weeks.  It started to go away around the 6th week and was totally gone by about 7 weeks.

  • I am very dizzy and lightheaded...when I stand up there are always black spots. I think it's normal for your blood pressure to go down. I think it is probably exacerbated by you having such a young child as well. If it worsens I would call. GL!

Go with your instinct. This is my second too, and I feel more light headed and dizzy. DD is running around a lot more than your 11 month old, and she makes me exhausted! I would take it easy for a day or two, then see how you feel.

This. With blood pressure and your history, I don't think you can be too careful. And you might start checking your blood pressure at home too.  That said, I've had a lot more dizziness with this one than with DS...but I also have high blood pressure soooooooo....
