According to the list Breezie made you and I are labor buddies. How are you feeling? I'm very anxious to turn 13 weeks tomorrow and officially transition into 2nd tri.
Hi Greeky Thanks for saying something, I hadn't seen that I had been matched yet.
I'm feeling good! (Other than some intense heat we are having in my neck of the woods today.) I have been reading through my Baby Bargains book the past couple days, because I'm getting anxious to start playing around with building a registry. I will probably wait at least a few more weeks before starting though.
The transition to 2nd tri is a breath of fresh air, for sure. When is your next appointment? Mine is the 24th.
My NT scan is tomorrow (yay!!) and then my appointment with the OB is on Wednesday. I'm so excited to see the baby again... and to come out of the closet! We haven't announced it to anyone yet except parents.
Registering is going to be so much fun. I'm on the fence about a lot of items but I know it will be exciting when the time comes.
Ooh, fun... I didn't get an NT scan so I'm pretty impatient for my 2nd ultrasound to come on Sept 16. It's fun announcing to people for sure. We told everyone pretty much on week 13 too.
Did you get the Baby Bargains book? If not you should think about it before registering.. it's really pretty fantastic. I thought I was going to be on the fence about some things but it has given me some new things to know that I should be looking for (For example, hubs and I are tall, and certain strollers are much better for tall peeps than others, and some are not adjustable at all!-- also differences in strollers based on the environments in which they'll be used-- mall vs. street vs. hiking paths etc) and it also helps to know what's a waste of money and not really needed!
They update that book every year or two I guess, and review tons of items.
Yep, I bought it a few weeks ago. I am trying to decide if we want to go the infant car seat route... that's my main dilemma. My SIL did not and never missed it. I would definitely get one if I thought the baby would be in it for a year, but it seems SO many people only use them for 6 mos. or so because baby outgrows it. I don't know. Baby Bargains says it is worth it, so I might just get one. The bigger ones go to 30lbs but they are so heavy, it is futile, because you can't carry LO around in it.
Do you have any items in mind you definitely want to get?
With my DH and I being tall people to begin with (he's 6'3, I am 5'11 and the shortest member of my family), I have a feeling our LO may end up being sizeable so I'm guessing we may want to go with one of the bigger car seats to begin with. That's just a rough guess though but I guess I'll know better further into the pregnancy. I have been really delving into the whole stroller thing because we live in the city, and vacation often in the woods, so we're going to need something fairly versatile that does well on different surfaces, plus it needs to be steerable with one hand since I would be walking the dog at the same time quite a bit. I have yet to actually do any hands-on research so I don't have a particular model picked out yet, but I may look into the Phil & Teds or the BOB type strollers.
