I have a ton of baby clothes that I would like to donate to a woman's shelter or some other place in need of these items. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could donate this stuff? I'm in the Royal Oak area. Thanks!
Ditto this OR there are several big hearted people in Oakland co. that organize community baby showers and they gladly accept gently used clothing to gift to these impoverished, single and teenage mothers. I have the email address of one such woman who belongs to the TroyCommunityCafe group on Yahoo.
I did kind of the same thing...there's a place in Mt. Clemens called Turning Point. It's for domestic abuse, etc. They have a secondhand store called Secondhand Rose, to benefit the shelter. A lot of the donated stuff just goes directly to the women if they need to. I gave them bottles, formula, pump supplies, etc. and they were thrilled. I know it's a little far from Royal Oak though; Secondhand Rose is on Gratiot near Cass. The actual shelter doesn't publicly give out their address, so all donations go to the store.
