I learned at my 14 week u/s that this one looks like a baby girl. The legs were straight up and bent at the knees, not blocking anything and baby was laying profile. There appeared to be no little boy parts there. I get confirmation Monday afternoon if this is really baby Emma or if we have baby Charles coming.
I am lucky that I am able to get scanned any time I want. I work at a ob/gyn office as a medical assistant. My last scan I was 16 weeks and she thought it was a girl. I will get scanned again this coming week, (I will be almost 18 weeks). If she cant tell, then we will know at our 20 week ultrasound.

They didn't even attempt to look. ?At that point both the boy and girl organs look almost identical. ?I would wait until your 20w u/s to find out and be sure.?
My baby was laying on the belly the whole time so we couldn't even get a peek. I guess the techs there try to take a guess if you want, but it's it by no means reliable at all.
I had my NT scan at 12 weeks and was told BOY....I then paid $$ for an early gender check at a 3d place at 14 weeks and they confirmed BOY....then I had my routine 20 week US at the OB office and it was re-confirmed BOY! I know a lot of folks will argue with this, but you can definitely tell early if the baby is cooperative! Our LO is obviously a boy....there is no denying it on the US!!

Mine didnt even attempt nor did I ask. Don't forget though they have a 50/50 chance of being right so I am not shocked when someone thinks they actually are accurate
When I went in for my NT Scan they said it was a boy. At first the LO's legs were crossed with the nurse and she would not say. When the nurse let DH leaned in to my belly and had a little talk with the LO. When the doc came in the baby was face down with the legs wide open. The doctor actually did a screen freeze and pointed out the growing parts.
We have not went out an bought any baby stuff, but I'm fully confident in my OB and the pictures we seen.
A lot of people on this board seem pretty skeptical that gender can be determined so early, but around here it seems pretty normal to find out the gender at the NT scan. It seems that most people I know get their NT scan done at the same perinatologist's office, and are told the correct gender around 12-13 weeks. I have not heard of anyone being told the wrong gender, so there must be some differentiation between the two genders even so early.
I was told that I'm having a boy at 12 weeks, and the ultrasound tech said she was sure of the gender. My OB did an ultrasound on me yesterday, and confirmed that the baby is indeed a boy.
The tech had tried to determine it at 12 weeks 4 days for fun... she guessed girl! Now I wasn't about to do any painting ..but yesterday at 21 weeks 4 days.. it was confirmed :-)
