Just wanted to give you ladies an update. I am writing this from my hospital bed and am still a little loopy, so please forgive me! I went to my NST scan on Thursday and my bp was up and I had plus 4 in my urine. I was sent on to L&D and after having some bad blood work they decided to go ahead and induce labor. I was right at 37 weeks.
They started the cervadil around 12:30PM on Thursday and I had two doses. After the second dose at 6:30PM I started running to the bathroom. It was horrible.
The Dr came in to check me around 11:30PM and I was only 1CM dialated. She decided to go ahead and start Pitocin. I took that from 1AM until 9AM; no progress what so ever. She decided to stop the pitocin and give me a break to eat something and shower and then they would try a bulb in my cervix to try to dialate me more. I got the bulb around 3PM and at 3:30PM my water broke on my own. They were sure that I would have the baby by early this morning.
My blood pressure spiked early this morning following a bad headache and cramping. At 8AM my dr decided to go ahead and do a c-section (I had made no progress) At 10:52AM Baby David Lee was born. He is the most precious thing I have ever seen. The only problem is that his bladder in on his outside. I have no had a chance to hold my baby boy yet.
They went ahead and took him to our local children's hospital. My DH is with him. The dr's over there did a total evaluation and everything other than the bladder is OKAY!!! Very healthy. He is 5lbs 9 ounces, 18 1'2 inches long and a spitting image of his daddy. They will do reconstructive surgery on Monday morning to place the bladder back into place and will have to remain at the hospital for 3 weeks.
I had a very tough time with my blood pressure and pain this afternoon but am doing much better now. I will have to remain here until Tuesday so I will not be there for my son's surgery.
Please keep my son, DH, and I in your thoughts and prayers. I will post pictures as soon as I can (I have limited laptop access!)
