OT: Maid service in Sterling Heights?

Hi all -

Our maid is moving on to a new career and we are in need of a new cleaning service. We would prefer a small business where you have the same person each week. Ideally, we'd like them to use natural cleaning products but we can always supply those if need be. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Holly

Re: OT: Maid service in Sterling Heights?

  • My husband and I have been using Simply Clean in Macomb for about 7 months now.  They are wonderful!  We did live in Macomb but just recently moved to Sterling Heights and they are coming here to clean for us.  They are very flexible as far as when they can come and it's just two women that run the business (Mom and Daughter) so it will be them that cleans everytime for you.  They also have VERY good prices...we had quotes from a several different companies and they were by far the best!  I hope this help!

Their names are Robin and Betty

  • Thanks for the info! They are coming Fri to give is a quote. Yeah! :)

Did you ever find a yoga place? I have been looking for somewhere close to us but no luck yet.

  • Oh good!  They are great!

I guess there is a woman who has a class off of Rochester Rd. in Troy but I am still trying to get more info.  If you find anything let me know.  I really want to get started.

  • I am so glad I came over to this board today!  :)  I just emailed them, too!  Thanks!!!
  • Hi Sarah -

The ladies came to check out my house today. They start next week. I really liked them so THANK YOU so much for the referral!!!

I still haven't found a yoga place. There is this place but I emailed them because they don't have any prenatal classes listed but haven't heard back:

I did find a place that does Aqua Aerobics and I went once and it was pretty good - tougher than I thought :) But I was by FAR the youngest person there! LOL! Maybe we can get some preggies to do an exercise group together?

    Best,
    Holly

  • No problem :)  Glad I could help!
  • Hi Sarah!

They just keft my house and are starting in a couple weeks here too!  Thanks soooo much!

  • Hi Holly :)

Where is the water aerobics that you went to?  I didn't realize there was a place like that in the sterling heights area?  I actually teach deep water and a class called silver splash at the Mt. Clemens YMCA but would love to take a class too.  I was just talking to my husband the other day about where we might take the baby for swimming classes after he/she is born.  Do they teach baby classes there?

No luck yet with the yoga either?  But am still trying.

I am glad that you both like Robin and Betty!  They were just here on Thursday to clean.  They're really excited to start working for you both.

  • Hi Sarah!

Sorry for the delayed reply - for some reason I never got any notices that a response was posted and yesterday all the notices came flooding in :)

The water aerobics is at Metro Health & Fitness Center. It is okay but not the greatest of facilities and the pool is quite small. The instructor was really nice though. I don't think they have baby swim lessons. Here is their website: https://www.metrohealth-fitness.com/

Do they have water aerobics for preggies at the YMCA you teach at?

No luck with yoga. Sometimes I miss living over in Royal Oak because I was so close to all kinds of stuff.

  • Hi Holly,

I will check out the website because that may be closer to me to go to those classes.  I did have two women in my class that were taking while pregnant but are both out now because they had their children.  I also have a lot of moms that are working on getting rid of the baby weight in my class.

On the yoga situation I just received the other day a utica community book for education classes and they offer yoga at Messmore school on tue from 6-7pm.  It starts Sept 22nd and is 10 weeks.  So I think I might give that a try.  I was hoping for something during the day but I guess it wouldn't hurt to go early evening.  If you want to take a look at the other stuff they offer the website is ucscommunityeducation.com.

Bonnie and Robin are coming today!  Yeah our place needs it!

  • Hi Sarah!

It would be fun to have someone to work out with. I am not the most physically fit person but I do okay :) That yoga sounds great but I go back to work next week. I teach at a university about 100 miles one way from my house so I will be gone all Tue and Thu.

Is there a good aqua class at Mt. Clemens for pregnant women?

Bonnie and Robin are great! It is so nice to have someone to help out :)
