I definitely know that I want to get a video monitor this time. I really wanted one with DS, but I know that I will not feel comfortable with DD if I cannot see her. I also plan on getting her an organic mattress instead of a regular one. What items did/do you love for your preemie?
Re: What could you not live without for your preemie?
Angelcare Monitor, Swaddleme wraps, Boppy vibrating bouncy seat, Co-sleeper, deep freezer, breastmilk bags, tons of hand sanitizer, Summer Infant 3-Stage Seat (instead of an exersaucer or johnny jumpup, which are generally considered big no-nos for preemies - our developmental therapist recommended it and we've gotten waaay more mileage out of the Summer Seat than I thought we would).
Congrats on your little one!
We have three boppy pillows for one child -- one upstairs, one down and one at grandma's house! The other must have -- those plastic rings that link together (you can put toys on them, etc) -- three of those linked together make him very happy. Our developmental specialist says they are great for working on grasping and passing things hand to hand, etc.
And the Angel Care monitor and Rainforest Soother for night time.
Anglecare Monitor
Moby Wrap or some type of sling
papasan bouncy chair
Gripe Water (Ruby got hiccups all the time and this got rid of them)
We couldn't have lived without an electic toothbrush. When DS was sooooo fussy and nothing would calm him, we ran the toothbrush handle on his back and the vibrations calmed him down.
Next time, I want to have one of those preemie donut things for their head. We are going to get the flat head checked out on Monday. Hope we don't need a helmet.
