Baby Names

Anyone think Jenson is a wierd name for a boy?

For some reason, it's the only boy's name DH and I agree upon. He likes it b/c Jenson Button is a famous racecar driver. LOL.

  • I like it, jansen is a good name too.
  • It is my moms maiden name and the middle name we may use if we have a girl.  I also have a distant cousin who named her daughter Jensen.  I find it a little girly.

This is what I was going to say.  I mean break me off a piece of that.  Yeah so I'm good with that name although I prefer the spelling Jensen.

  • I like the name Jensen, probably because I'm a little bit in love with Jensen Ackles :-).

I'm not crazy about the nickname "jen" for a boy, though, and I do think it would get shortened to that.

  • Hi Hawaii!  I clicked on this board and saw your post never realizing I clicked on the wrong board :)

I LOVE that name.  My brother was high school/college friends with Jenson Ackles (now on Supernatural) I thought he was soooo hot when my brother would have him over, I would embarass myself everytime.  LOL

Well fancy seeing you over here!? So, you had contact with this heartthrob, Jensen? Did you ever peek into your brother's room when said Jensen was changing? Hmmm? I would've... if he was THAT hot! Stick out tongue

  • Never heard of it, but I don't think it's weird. ?People may call him Jen or Jenny though.

Yeah, we thought of that as well. But, I think they can call him Jay for short, although we won't use a nickname with him. After 2 years, no one uses a nn for DD yet either. He'll probably be made fun of at school as "Jen" but he'll live. There's always a way to twist a name into making fun of it, IMO. ...and if he grows up to be as hot as the pp mentioned his namesakes are (racecar driver and actor) then who the heck cares! LOL! I think it'll be fine.

  • Honestly, yeah I do. Not a fan. That being said, I am one of those people who doesn't usually like surnames as first names very much.

  • I had a student named Jensen.  He was a sweetie pie.  Nobody ever called him Jenny or Jen...

  • My sister named her (female) dog Jensen after Jensen Beach in FL

I think it's a great name, but it does have female (and canine) conotations for me

We have never called her dog Jen or Jenny though!

  • NMS.  It reminds me of the Jetsons, the cartoon.
  • We have a family member whose 2 year old has the middle name Jenson because his 2 older brothers have their dad's fn and mn for mn's and the mom's name is Jen, so he's Jen's son.

I do like it for a first name though.
