I guess DH forgot to lock it last night. Normally it's not a big deal because it's in the garage, but we have so much stuff being moved around that both of our vehicles are parked in the driveway. He noticed that a Wal-Mart gift card, his Sears credit card, and all of the change was gone, but he thought maybe I'd moved it all or something. When he got home from work, the guy across the street walked over and told him that we needed to be careful because their car was broken into last night.
Thing is, that's all they took. DH's checkbook was in the glove compartment overnight, and my GPS is still there, too.
Re: Ugh, someone broke into my car
That really sucks. I have my car broken into and you know what they took?
ALL the change in my change holder and thats it. My glove compartment was completely ripped out but nothing was missing. My radar detecter and even a 10$ bill in my center counsel was still there.
You trashed the inside of my car for the $4 in change?? I didnt get it.
I got my jeep broken into about 2 years ago.. they left the satellite radio, tried to steal the CD player.. but couldn't figure out how to rip it out, picked through and stole ONLY the silver change in the console.. and stole my back pack with about 400$ worth of anatomy, physiology and chemistry books I had just bought.
Normally I would take that out of the car.. but it was a strange night and just hurried to get inside.
I usually don't, but since I was on bed rest for so long, DH got into the habit of taking my car to work, and he likes to leave things in there. I'm curious why they didn't try to get into his truck...
Had they done damage to/stolen enough stuff to total $500, we could have filed with our homeowner's insurance. I'm glad we're not having to do that, but seriously...a $50 gift card? I could've used that!
