AW: Cash for Clunkers

I'm so happy I could cry... DH and I haven't been driving his car for a while... too many things went wrong with it in a short time, and it wasn't worth the value of the car to fix it all, so we've been driving only my car.  (I don't work, I was doing school online, so I used to drop him off and pick him up)

Well, today, we thought we'd look into the cash for clunkers, and found out his car counted, and we got to get a new car!!!  I'm so happy to have two cars!!   He had a dodge durango which only gets 13 mpgs, and we traded it in and got a mitsubishi outback!  Love it!

    Congratulations!! My DH's car needs more work than it's worth too.. sadly it doesn't qualify, but I'm so happy for you!  I'm sure you'll enjoy not having to play chauffeur.

    Thanks guys!  I'm super excited to put the baby seat in now  Big Smile 

     

    SaraSmile-  I think you go to https://www.cars.gov/ and they have info about it... it tells you how many mpgs your car has to be below to qualify, and other info.

    the guy we talked to said you qualify if the new car gets 10mpg more than your car they will give you 4500 for it and if it is like 4-5mpg more then u get 3500 and i think he said your car also cant be worth more than the rebate you are getting. Which is totally awesome my car would qualify but im am so far negative on my car it still wouldnt pay my car offCrying im negative 5k on mineCrying

    Doesn't it rock?!?  We just got a new Mazda 3 for DH's 1997 Jeep...love it!!
