No one EVER told me this: crusty nips

I had no idea crusty nipples were a part of pregnancy. I guess I shouldn't be suprised with all the other changes that are going on.... but ew. I think it is dried colostrum? It doesn't hurt at all.

    No, I promise it isn't. It is kind of yellowish and only on the tips. How's that for TMI?

    From what you've described it's dried colostrum.  I started getting it around 13 weeks and around 22 I started to leak at night.  Now I occasionally leak during the day. Indifferent

    I noticed this too, but luckily only once...so far. I hope it doesn't start happening too often, it was gross!

    I keep saying to one of my friends, THIS is the kind of stuff that they need to tell teenagers in sex education classes....and all the other stuff that happens - if I had heard half of this stuff, it might just have put me off sex for life!!

    I've been getting it more frequently over the past week or so. I just take a warm rag and clean then off.

    DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.

    It wouldn't be colstrum this early as that does not usually start forming until third tri or so. It is probably dry skin, which is why it is recommended that you do not wash your breast with soap during pregnancy...just an FYI.
