American Adoptions places all of the couples waiting on their site so you always know how many there are.
They place over 300 babies every year.
They currently have 128 families waiting for a placement of a white/hispanic baby (most likely about 25-50% of these families are in matches but awaiting the birth of their child).
They currently have 11 families waiting for a placement of an AA/B-R baby (most likely 100% of these families are in matches and awaiting the birth of their child).
They also have a very low disruption rate due to some processes they have in place and the fact that they back-up their adoptions financially so there is very little to no at-risk fees.

last year's stats:

no more than 20
65 placements in 2008
Around 10-15 waiting families at a time (I think)
So far this year our agency has done:

There are about 70 couples waiting right now
Last year they did:
Domestic: 76 placements
