Funny story I was told on L&D tour tonight..

so the L&D nurse told us how this lady was starving through Labor and all she would talk about was a cheeseburger .. not the baby or labor but a cheeseburger... she tried convincing the nurse to feed her right as the baby came out.. apparently she hadnt eaten in awhile.. haha..

well they said she made her hubby go to mcdonalds and get one.. thats all you could smell in the room and it was her "focal point" and as soon as baby was wisked off to be cleaned and vaccinated she chowed lol...

we all got a chuckle from the way the nurse told it.. and thought id share..

thats something i'd do.. but maybe not that extreme lol.. i usually go for milkshakes!

Good lord! lol I can imagine wanting a cheeseburger, but not so bad that it outweighs labor pains!

LOL at the "focal point" I don't think that would work for me!

When I was in labor w/ DD I was starving too! The nurse agreed to get me a sandwich but by the time she got back I was in so much pain that the thought of eating made me want to puke (ya, she had told me so!). And after labor, I was too busy looking at DD to remember to eat

hunger is no joke! I went 27 hours with no food. I made DH go to the store and get yogurt smoothies- it was still liquid, but at least it was calories!
