So DH and I are going to do a joint birthday party with BM for youngest SS's 10th birthday. He wants to do a skating party which we all agreed would be good. I found all of the information for the skaiting rink online and sent it to BM. Its $59.99 for up to 8 skaters and then $6.00 for each additional skater. That includes: admission, skate rental, Drink, Ice cream, paper plates, forks, napkins, decorated table and coupon to come back again. So I figured we would probably have about 10 kids and that would be fine. Well I get an email back from her and she is thinking about 15-20 kids. That would make the total just for skating $131.00. On top of that, she wants shirts for the kids to sign, cupcakes and $1 for each kid to play in the arcade. The total for everything comes up to a little over $200 which means about $100 for our share.
My question is: Does this seem to excessive or right on track with what 10 year olds are doing for their birthdays? It seems expensive to me.
Re: Birthday party question
$200 is very cheap for a party of that many children.
I don't think she's being unreasonable.
Thanks ladies. I talked to DH and we decided that its not to expensive and I seem to be mostly in charge of whats going on so I know how much we will end up having to pay and it does not seem like to much. I just hate it when people tell me how much money they want me to spend instead of asking.
