I wanted to send out my announcements in the next couple of weeks and I don't know what the protocal was.
did you send them out before your little one came home?
what picture did you include if any?
what did it say? "birth weight" or what?
what are your thoughts?
Re: what and when did you send your announcments?
I sent them out at about 6 weeks and used his one month professional pictures. He came home at 3 weeks.
I don't think there is a real protocal it would just be up to you.
I gave his birth stats.
I've been sending mine out over the past week. I used a pic i took while in the nicu - and his birth stats - that's how he was born and I'm still his proud mommy! (though he didn't have as many tubes/wires as some little ones)
Here they are: I actually found part of the design online - adapted it to my needs, and had them printed on magnets thru vistaprint. (i actually did this for my wedding save the dates last year also)
We sent them when DD came home and included some pics from the NICU and some pro pics, we also included her birth stats and her stats coming home.
i think you get an extra dispensation of etiquette time.
nicu mommies are busy mommies.
i sent ours out last week. (she was about 2 months old.) i had them printed and got them in a few weeks before that. (as i said, "busy mommies"!)
we included her weight, dates, length etc. and a picture without any wires or tubes. she is still on the cpap, and just started sprinting a few weeks ago. when we take her home we're going to do a "welcome home" announcement that has a picture of her adorable little face.
i got the idea for the picture by looking at other announcements that had multiple pictures on them. the ones that had one picture of hands, one of feet, etc...
Our little girl was born quite small and 7 weeks early... once she came home we took a cute pic of her with blankets and all but put her actual info; birth weight, length, DOB, etc. She was born April 21st and came home May 15th... I think we sent out the announcements around 1st week of July. Everyone loved them!
