Strollers?

I am due in Jan. and was researching strollers/carseats/travel systems.  I would like to hear what you guys have to say good or bad.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Strollers?

  • I have the Mia Moda 3-wheel stroller and travel system and I love it!  The car seat is meant for a smaller infant, so your LO will outgrow it quicker, but it's very reasonably priced.

  • I have a snugride with metrolite stroller. No complaints so far with the stroller and I love the carseat.
  • Graco safeseat and Jeep Liberty stroller, which are compatible.  I love both of them.

  • Love Love Love our Chicco KeyFit travel system. If I knew then what I know now, I would have paid 3 times as much for it if I had to. WELL worth the money.

My BIL and SIL had the Graco one and I didn't like theirs as much as ours. MIL didn't either. Apparently the Chicco one is just a different texture of plastic and fabric. No real reason--just the look and feel of it.

  • I have the Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30 travel system.  I like it a lot because of the colors, maneuverability, and ease of use.  The only thing I don't like about it is that both the carseat and stroller are heavy.

  • Love our Chicco Cortina Travel System!! The car seat base was really easy to install and the inspectors said they love when people have this one because it's got great safety ratings, plus it's a breeze to install. The carrier is heavier than the Graco Snugride, but I'm of the opinion that once your baby starts gaining weight you're not going to care about a 2-3 lb. difference in carriers - they're all just heavy!!! I love the material of the infant car seat (we have the Discovery pattern) and the headrest/newborn insert are great too. I like the headrest better than the oval ones on the Graco. One complaint that a lot of people have about the Chicco seat is that it does not 'fit' on top of many shopping carts like the Gracos do. It latches into the base in a completely different way so it doesn't have those notches that make it fit shopping carts. Technically you're not supposed to do this anyway...it's not an actual feature - just a convenience. I've done it, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't a necessity for me when deciding on infant carriers. That being said the Chicco does fit on some shopping carts - just not many. I just put her in the bit part of the cart and save big shopping trips for when she's not with me.

The stroller is awesome! It's not too heavy, folds relatively compact (for a full-size), handles very smoothly and has an adjustable handle (though both my husband and I use it at the full height). My one complaint about the stroller is that it's almost impossible to use the basket underneath with the infant carrier since the seat needs to be fully reclined and it leaves little room to access it. Unlike the Graco's the basket does not fold down so you can access it even with the seat fully reclined. It's not a huge deal for me, though. I have clips that hold my shopping bags on the railing and my diaper bag fits over the handles. I also love the very easy one hand fold of the Chicco. I wasn't crazy about the push and twist aspect of the Graco folding.

  • Okay, how is it that everyone else can sum it up in one sentence and I write a freakin' novel...sorry for being so long-winded!!

    I love ours too.
  • I have the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Carrier and the Pliko Stroller. I love the quality, but the carrier is super heavy! I LOVE the stroller! it folds up like an umbrella stroller, so it doesn't take up a huge amount of space. All in all it's very easy to use and install, I just wish the carrier were a bit lighter.
  • We have the Orbit and I love it.
