ugh! I know I am so early to be needing new pants but between my ovaries being HUGE from OHSS and the bloat my pants hurt! I bought a bella band which is a lifesaver but I think I need one or two bigger pants for school starting. I haven't been allowed to exercise so I'm sure it's also real fat. I am sad! I don't want to buy them everything I read says you shouldn't need bigger clothes until 20 weeks!?
Would you buy bigger pants or small maternity?
I feel like a fatty!?
Re: pants...
That whole 20 week thing is not true. Women will normally start to actually show by 20 weeks, but most have to buy some different clothes long before then.
I needed new bras by week 8. I was wearing maternity pants by week 12 (so much more comfortable!) and my largest non-pg tops were being streched by 18 weeks. (I started off in small Motherhood Maternity pants and now I'm wearing larges. Their Secret Fit panel is the most comfortable pant I've found. Everything else puts wayyy too much pressure on my lower tummy/upper pube area.)
Everyone is different, but do what's comfortable!
I needed new clothes way before 20 weeks. Don't worry it's bloat, but it still doesn't make you hurt less.
My advice: don't buy too many clothes. They won't fit you later on (I have 2 shirts I can wear out now!). Also, if you have a Motherhood Maternity they have some pants with a stretchy waist. No one can tell they are maternity and you probably will be able to wear them after pregnancy if you want.
I haven't read anything that says anything about 20 weeks. I bought a pair of maternity jeans, and I need the bella band to hold them up, but they are a GODSEND. I was so sick of feeling uncomfortable. I have lost 3lbs, and my pants won't even button.
Go make yourself comfortable, girl!
I sit at a computer all day and end up unbuttoning b/c of bloat. I have lost weight but am much more sensitive to tight clothes. I have one pair of American Eagle jeans "Artist Fit" they are SO comfy. They are a little stretchy and have 2 buttons at the top. For whatever reason they are they only jeans I could stay in all day. I also got a pair from the juniors dept. in Dillards that are not maternity but have an elasticy waist. They are really cute trouser style and will probably last me until I realllly need the maternity pants. Hope this helps!!
