Adjusting to the Toddler room

Is going to be the death of me.  As soon as we get home, it's meltdown after meltdown.  I know she's just exhausted, even though she is taking a nap...I'm assuming it's just not enough, or there is just too much going on. There's a video on my blog of her just crashing while sitting on my lap.  Poor schmoo.

I hope the adjustment doesn't take too long.  But we're going to pull her out of daycare 9/1 if I don't have a job lined up, then put her back in once I get one, so I guess I'll have to do it all over again. Ugg.

Anyone else going through this?

Probably doesn't help that she is getting 2 molars, and 2 bottom teeth. Fun times.

  • We are going through this now.  He just transistioned to the toddlers room, and he is completely exhausted when he gets home.  He takes the same length of nap he did in his previous room, but I think they are doing more in this room and is just wears him out!  I actually think he may start going to bed a little earlier now we will see.
  • I just commented on FB. G's first full day was on Monday and he was ready to go to bed at 5:45. He came up to me and gave me the sign for sleepy and then moved the baby gate from the stairs ( real effective, huh?) then proceeded to climb the stairs to go to bed. We hadn't even had dinner, bath or story time yet. He hasn't been back yet this week b/c he's been sick so I'm not sure how long it's going to take for him to get adjusted.
  • I am so sorry heres to a quick adjustment.
  • If Miss T is anything like Baby Wolverine she will adjust really quickly.  BW has been in the toddler room since around July 20; she was supposed to visit that week, but did so well she just stayed all day every day, and then moved permanently the next week.  The only major issue we've had is that she is ferociously hungry when we get home, so I make her a snack with milk, she eats that and then is ready for dinner.  We're eating very early these days, hee, and she has been going to bed consistently around 8:00 - it used to be 8:30.  I think you're probably right that the teeth don't help either!  :)
  • I LOVE the video, sweet Taylor is such a cutie. I can't really say if Sophia is  fully adjusted just yet but we have been in molar hell for months so I think that has so much to do with it. We have had many nights where from the time we got home to the time she went to bed is one meltdown after another and the only thing that really comforted her was for me to hold her. Which as much as I love her it is really annoying when I am trying to get dinner together, etc.  Hopefully those teethies come in quick and she is back to her happy self.
