Did you know that Charles Manson was born no-name (or baby boy) Maddox? According to wikipedia.

Does that change anyone's like of the name?

  • Never liked it to begin with, so no.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • No. I still like the name Charles plenty, too. Now, Manson...that's another story.
  • Nope.  Imagine having a family name of Adolf?  My grandfather is from Hungry and that was a common name at that point in time ... and my fathers middle name is Adolf as well.
  • Maddox was his mother's last name.  That's why he was born "no name" or baby boy Maddox.

His life sucked.  It's no wonder he turned out as he did.  It really tells a lot about the effect that living in and out of various institutions can have on a person.

  • it's nms but i've known that since angelina adopted her little boy [used to love reading about charles manson] and i never cared one bit.

i tend to like names that most people avoid because of things like that, though, like rosemary. i hate the idea that a name i choose for my child could become super popular afterward.

this is exactly true. you can't help but feel sorry for him when you know the whole story. it's terrible what he turned into but not at all surprising.

I am quite sure that Dave Pelzer "A Boy Called It" suffered through worse and is now a wonderful man and inspiration to millions.
