What did you do for a cake?
I'm debating. I know my free time is near nonexistant these next few weeks, but I'd like a nice cake for DS's 1st bday - that is the one picture that I know of from my 1st birthday. I'm just curious about what the EFFer's have done. Did you make it kid-healthy? Did you do fun shapes - if so, how incredibly difficult was that? Just looking for attainable ideas.
Re: For those of you who have had a DC's 1st birthday party
Ooh, what about one of those shaped cake pans? Looks like a train or some of the other cute ones out there? And maybe if you find an easy scratch recipe use applesauce and not as much sugar in the recipe if there's a lot. I don't know. I hope you find something you love and that the party is a huge success!
(I didn't mean to sound snotty earlier if I did.)
I did homemade cupcakes for J's birthday and they were a big hit. I have one of those tiered cupcake holders too which made it festive.
For C, we did a birthday brunch, so I ordered out a carrot cake (I was lazy).
GL!

Oh - no worries!!
You didn't at all!!
Thanks! I did do the flowers/marshmallows cut up on the CC's. I got the idea here. It was really easy. You should try cutting some up and seeing if they can make the shape of an animal or something fun! I bet you could google easy cupcake decor like that and find all kinds of things! LOL yeah I don't think it would work well for your DS.
