That was exactly why I left the comment. I thought it was insensitive and rude, but I don't know your friend. That was just my outside view of it. I know Mady is a peanut, but it sounds like she's doing well and you're doing the best by her. And I mean that!
It came across that way to me too. Her baby is actually way bigger than every other 8 month old I know, but you didn't see me telling her that! I think she maybe thinks she's way ahead of the game because her baby's walking at 8 months, but I wouldn't wish early mobility on my worst enemy and it's not linked to size at all.

Just because her baby is bigger doesn't mean that that's great either. And when her baby really hits toddlerhood she could see that weight go way down. I've looked at weight charts for DS and he's barely on them. But, he eats a lot now. He just doesn't stop going and he's tall and thin. And early mobility means nothing either like you said and not something I'd wish for. MIL kept getting on me about that with DS because all her kids walked and talked incredibly early. I hate to tell her this but I didn't do those things until I was 3 and on paper/in testing my IQ is higher than DH's. It means nothing. Each child does their own thing when they're ready. It's amazing when moms in her situation can't keep their traps shut and that they just don't understand that small in this situation is not bad and that you're doing everything to make sure DD is healthy.
Well just know you've got a lot of support here. And if I ever say something that could be construed as hurtful or out of line, please tell me. And I agree DS is right where he needs to be with development. And I have to agree with (I think Luvlie's comment, do I recognize the picture correctly :-) ?) please make sure you get a bedtime snack. Feeling faint is not good.
That is Luvlie. I got a banana and some cheese. I will def. tell you if you ever say anything like that, but everyone here is really on my page with child rearing so I doubt it will happen. My friends back home have succumbed to some of the "baby trainers" as Dr. Sears would call it and it's just not my style. This board was very important early on for that reason!

Re: **Sapphyr**
Yep! You said it!
DH was walking at 9 months. I was TERRIFIED. Of course he wanted Mady to walk ASAP, but he's not the one with her all day, lol!
Luckily she's been average on physical development, but otherwise I think she's just slightly ahead of the game.
